Social Media: Do you post because you feel you need to?

I'm sure, like me, you sometimes retreat and marvel at how uncomplicated life used to be before sharing everything in the hope of raising your game became a business strategy. And when you do step away, hands up those who look at it as a passive scroller and just sees endless holiday snaps, beautiful house renovations, success stories being shared, hair being done and trophies won and goes on to wonder whether stepping away is ok after all, and also, why aren't I better at a, b, or c?
The truth is - this is 2024 and it looks as though we're stuck with Silicon Valley and all its good and bad consequences for the foreseeable - we aren't going back to carrier pigeons anytime soon.
But if you ARE on a social media platform for business, a service or for a uniqueness you want to sell, promote or make a success out of, don't forget this one big rule: you actually don't have to and must NOT distract from the narrative that brought you here in the first place and that brought happy, interested and loyal customers to you at the start.
It is OK to be boring, to be 1D and it's ok to focus on the one thing that dragged you here to use its advantages way back when. Sometimes what you are and were doing is just fine! There is no need to imitate, or over share or go down new paths. Make the messaging you use effective, strong, and very you: there is no need to worry about being anyone or anything else.
